Hello Fall!

Happy First Day of Fall!

To be honest, summer is my favorite season, but these past few days I've been waiting patiently anxiously for it to finally feel like fall. I want to be able to wear cute sweaters and boots without sweating. It's been nice and cool in the morning, but by the time noon rolls around, it might as well be the middle of July.

In my mind, new season means new clothes. More importantly new boots. I practically live in my boots during the fall and winter, so I've been looking for a new pair.

I found out that Target has some awesome boots!

Merona Kourtney Tall Boots

I like the height of the Buckle Boot and these could definitely replace an old pair of mine. I found these when MakeupByTiffanyD showed them in one of her videos. But I'm leaning more towards one of the taller boots because I never had a pair that tall before. Decisions, decisions.

Pinterest Inspired Outfit: Leather Jacket and Chevron Dress

So I found this look on Pinterest and right away thought I could recreate it with some of the items in my own closet.

Big thanks to my sister for taking these pictures for me!

I had this leather jacket for a while that I bought at Marshalls.  I recently purchased the chevron dress from Kohls.  I wanted a dress like this for a while and was so happy to finally found this one.

The shoes are from a brand called Connie, which I bought from a shoe outlet store a few years ago.

August Favorites

I can't believe it's already September. I love summer- it's my favorite season, but I'm really looking forward to the fall and the leaves changing, pumpkin picking, wearing sweaters. I could go on.

August was a great month though. Probably my busiest month of the summer, but it was beyond amazing.

Some of my August favorites:

1. Traveling: I have previous posts on my two vacations I took this month, one to Florida and one to Nashville.

2. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey: I heard about this from Leighannsays, a YouTuber who makes videos about beauty and fashion. I put this on just about everyday. Sometimes I'll put the balm stain on first and then another lip product over it.

3. Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara: While in Florida, I had to buy a new mascara. My old one just wasn't doing it anymore, so I bought this and I am in love with this mascara.  I got the waterproof version. Sometimes waterproof mascaras bother my eyes, but this one doesn't.

4. Instagram: I used to just like Instagram, but now I'm obsessed with it! Hands down probably my favorite app of all time. I love taking pictures and editing them. It's so much fun. Here's some of my favorites pictures I took this month.

I Went to Barnes and Noble...

Yesterday my grandparents treated me to dinner and a trip to Starbucks... I Instagrammed it because I'm slowly but surely becoming more and more obsessed with Instagram everyday.

Part of what I got from Barnes and Noble... also green tea from Starbucks.
We went to an Irish restaurant for dinner and this was outside. How cool!

I wasn't quite sure if I needed/wanted anything from Barnes and Noble, but then I remembered A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book came out recently and I more or less made a beeline for the book as soon as I walked through the doors. I'm a big fan of Emma and Elsie's blog A Beautiful Mess. It's an amazing blog with the coolest pictures I've ever seen and I'll be sure to use some of the tips I read in their book for my own photos.

Also while at Barnes and Noble, I picked up a planner. I'm starting school soon and while yes, I use my calendar on my phone, in my opinion there's nothing better than an old school planner. Besides how could I pass up a planner with elephants on it- I couldn't!

Roadtrip: Nashville

My best friend since the first grade (doesn't that make us sound old) decided to take a drive down to Nashville because
1. We always wanted to take a road trip.
2. We love country music.

And I have to say it was unbelievably awesome!!

The drive was beautiful in itself- if you ever need to clear your head or just need to take away, take a drive and hopefully you'll see breathtaking views like this.

We stopped at a gas station and stumbled upon this.

We only had two full days in Nashville, but we made sure to make the best of it. We stopped by some well known honky-tonks on Broadway, The Stage and Tootsies. We looked at the stars on the Walk of Fame and visited the Country Music Hall of Fame. My friend and I walked over to Vanderbilt University (a possible grad school) and then over to Centennial Park to see the Parthenon replica.

I'm a firm believer in the fact that the food makes the road trip and let me tell you, the food was delicious. Some of the places we stopped at were Fido (heard Taylor Swift's a fan) and this coffee shop Crema. I definitely posted a picture of my coffee with the cool design on Instagram.

Crema. This was so good!

Oh Florida.

I just spent the past week vacationing in Florida with my family and we had the most wonderful time. I relaxed on the beach, read a book called Girls in Trucks by Katie Crouch, which I really liked, and took walks almost everyday. It's honestly one of my favorite things to do. Especially with this view.

We also visited to the Ringling Museum, which we go to every time we go to Florida. Seriously, we never get tired of this place.  They have an art museum and a circus museum and you can tour the mansion that John and Mable Ringling resided in (they tell you all about that on the tour).

So, I had a fantastic week. Sad to leave, but happy to be home and I can't wait to go back again.
